Project Manager/Scrum Master (Junior to Mid-Level)

Vibrent is looking for a team-oriented Agile-certified junior project manager who enjoys technology, who has a passion for creating new products, and who has the confidence and desire to work with product teams through our Agile-based development lifecycle (i.e., Scrum, Kanban, Feature-Driven Development). 

This position will be located at our Fairfax, VA headquarters and reports to the Senior Agile Project Manager.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the support of product development
  • Support the Product Owner and Development Team in meeting release goals
  • Assist the Product Team with backlog refinement, planning the cycles and sprints, and ensuring that work flows smoothly to the team
  • Facilitate planning, daily stand-ups, demos and retrospectives within the US.
  • Coach development teams to best use Kanban, Scrum, and Feature-Driven Development to plan, build, and deliver product
  • Identify and eliminate obstacles that prevent the team from achieving their goals
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution to build a trusting and safe environment
  • Empower the team to self-organize and to continually improve performance
  • Shield the development team from outside interference and distractions
  • Coordinate and facilitate necessary collaborations in order to obtain answers, provide direction, or eliminate roadblocks during product development
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining metrics and artifacts associated with development progress and productivity (e.g., burn-down charts, burn-up charts, team velocity, bug resolution)
  • Coach, motivate cross-functional teams toward better solutions and improved processes

Qualifications:

  • Active Scrum Master certification
  • 1-3 years of experience in software product development (i.e., graphical user interfaces, mobile apps, web apps)
  • 1-3 years of experience with tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Rally)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of software development lifecycles and activities
  • Ability to set and manage priorities
  • Strong relationship building skills, including the ability to manage a range of different personality types in a facilitative and mature manner
  • Experience in facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency
  • Strong listening and written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addressees

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Certifications (e.g., CSM, SP)
